Imagine working in a job where things are falling apart. The boss wants to know why things are going the way they are, so he looks at his employees for answers. He discovers that his employees are not doing their jobs maintaining a stable working environment, so he calls them out for it. The problem reveals itself to be a lack of integrity displayed by the employees.
Integrity is a trait which defines someone as honest and with moral values, which shows leadership like qualities. Based on the example above, the lack of integrity is because the employees are not being honest with their work ethic, not taking initiative when problems arise, and not being responsible. Generally speaking, integrity is important for allowing people to grow leadership skills. However, integrity is vital in the workforce because people should display honest hard work so that it would give customers a reason to continue doing business over and over again.
TO HAVE INTEGRITY IS TO BE HONEST
In the workforce, honesty is how workers can win customers because no one likes liars. Being honest is all about being open to people, to let them know what has been happening, and not taking advantage of others. For customers, being lied to by workers is an awful feeling because it does not reflect on what businesses strive to do for their customers. Not to mention, lying just makes people feel terrible. Which is why workers need to be honest to their customers on what is going on so that they feel reassured. Want more customers? Be honest with them first.
RESPONSIBILITY IS AOTHER FACTORY OF INTEGRITY
And one that is crucial in the workforce. For both employers and employees, their roles are their responsibilities. Whatever happens during their roles, it is their responsibility to take care of anything that demands attention. Not only that, but they also have to be honest about it too, as lying is a form of not taking responsibility. Someone who does not take responsibility for their actions is a coward, which is not what integrity is. That is why to have integrity, one must be responsible.
WANT TO KNOW WHAT INTEGRITY LOOKS LIKE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE?
Helping people out, no matter how ridiculous their requests are. While it is true that having excellent customer service skills will drive customers back in for more, going the extra mile to help people is a mark of true integrity. This can be in the form of helping someone fill up their car tires with air, to assisting with putting groceries in a customer’s car. A little kindness here and there can go a long way, and may even return the favor. Workers should always go the extra mile to satisfy a customer’s needs, as these nice gestures come from within.
SO, WHAT DOES INTEGRITY LOOKS LIKE?
It shows a person who displays strong leadership like qualities that enables them to be on top of everything and help people. In a world where integrity is sorely lacking, now is the time to gain integrity in order to grow as a person. Strong qualities are what allow people to adapt and overcome challenges, and without them, people will fail many times. Now is not the time to work in anger, now is the time to work with integrity,
